At the very least six individuals had been killed and a number of other injured on Saturday when a fireplace broke out following an explosion at an oxygen plant in southeastern Bangladesh, officers stated.

The demise depend might rise as a rescue operation was ongoing on the plant at Sitakunda, 40 km (25 miles) from the southeastern port metropolis of Chittagong, they added.

It was not instantly clear what induced the explosion, a fireplace service official stated.

“Six our bodies had been recovered from the location,” native authorities official Shahadat Hossain informed Reuters, including a rescue operation was persevering with.
