A New York Post reporter attempted to sneak the bogus and unsubstantiated story circulating in right-wing media about President Biden owing $ 500,000 in wage taxes. After letting the reporter babble for almost a minute, Psaki cut him off and said that she thought she knew where this was going. The press secretary said the story had been exposed, Biden had published decades’ worth of tax returns, and she moved on.
Jen Psaki showed how to deal with misinformation.
The fake story that Biden may owe taxes is so important to the right because Donald Trump may owe the IRS hundreds of millions of dollars and run against multiple tax fraud investigations.
There is no evidence that President Biden avoided paying taxes.
None.
The right is trying to cloud the water so that Trump and Biden look alike in the eyes of swing voters. It was a successful Republican tactic in 2016.
Jen Psaki showed how to deal with misinformation. She turned it off, exposed it, and moved on. The White House press secretary failed to give credibility to the illegitimate question by engaging in it.
Psaki will not grant the right to use the White House’s daily briefing to step up their efforts to slander Biden and upset Trump.
