The Chiefs need a Denver win to keep their dreams of a first-round goodbye in the NFL playoffs alive, and the Broncos would love the game spoiler. It’s an action-packed DFS single-game slate so we’re excited to share our DraftKings showdown picks from week 18. Our line-up includes Patrick Mahomes, but our “captain” selection should give us some differentiation and we have a couple of sleepers who are a perfect fit in GPP tournaments.
Here are the important settings for DraftKings single game competitions: Full point PPR, and there are Three point bonuses for 300 yards overtaking,100 racing yards, and100 reception yards. The captain selection costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but they also get their total score multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Chiefs vs. Broncos
$ 50,000 budget, at least one player on each team required.
Captain: (1.5x salary, 1.5x points): RB Darrel Williams, Chiefs (14,700 USD)
In the five games Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) missed this season, Williams scored 17.1 DK points per game and was heavily involved in the passing offensive. With CEH likely to miss another week, this should be another high volume game for Williams. With this pick, we’re avoiding the chalk MVP picks like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and maybe even Javonte Williams, but we have similar advantages. We know Hill and Kelce haven’t been “sure” this season and Williams also acts as a third target in the passing game.
FLEX: QB Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($ 4,600)
Since Mahomes finally looks a bit like his former self, we cannot leave him out of our lineup with a clear conscience, although he will obviously be calcareous. After the tough defeat in Cincinnati, this Chiefs offensive will want to build some momentum in the playoffs, and it all starts with Mahomes.
WEEK 18 FANTASY RANKING (PPR & STANDARD):
Quarterback | Run back | Wide-angle receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker
FLEX: Chiefs D / ST ($ 4,600)
Throwing a pickaxe at Drew Lock is out of the question here, is it? It is never wise to “bank” on a defensive result, but we can hope for some sales at least. Lock hasn’t thrown an interception in his two starts this season, so it feels like he’s due and the overall cap on Denver’s offensive is low. Hard to see this selection coming back to bite us, and the benefit is clearly there.
FLEX: WR Byron Pingle, Chiefs ($ 4,800)
Pringle – along with any other passport catcher other than Hill or Kelce – is obviously never a safe choice, but we’ve seen his advantage in his performance of 25.5 in Week 16, so we like his boom-or-bust Profile for tournaments. Denver has the option to take Hill out (as we saw in Week 13) so Pringle could be the man to line up among the Chiefs’ wideouts.
WEEK 18 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuell | DraftKings | Yahoo
FLEX: WR Jerry Jeudy, Broncos ($ 5,000)
You could opt for another Broncos passcatcher’s big play or touchdown upside here, but since DK is full point PPR, we like Jeudy. It has a lot of explosiveness itself, but can also score points at short or intermittent receptions. Whether it’s big games or a ton of volume in garbage time, it’s not out of the question that he could hit the 100 yard bonus (assuming it’s coming off the reserve / COVID list).
SATURDAY FULL-SLATE DFS: DraftKings | FanDuel
FLEX: RB Javonte Williams, Broncos ($ 8,000)
Williams broke out against the Chiefs with 32.8 DK points in Week 13, but that was when Melvin Gordon was inactive. We can’t expect the same volume this week, but we can shoot for similar efficiency. With the Broncos officially out of playoff competition, we hope they let the rookie eat and use Gordon as a breather. After the rushing attack in Denver that disappointed in one of the best matchups for RBs (Chargers) last week, expect the Broncos to try to establish the run game early on. If this game gets into garbage time, Williams could do a lot of work in passing too.
