PharmStars, a digital health accelerator focused on building relationships between digital health companies and the life science world, has announced the culmination of its first 10-week program focused on innovation in clinical trials.
Founded in 2021 by digital health veterinarian Naomi Fried and pharma manager Laura Gunn, the program focuses on educating health tech companies and pharmaceutical companies about the collaboration. The accelerator consisted of three components: courses and workshops, mentoring and “Executive ed for Pharma”.
The first cohort included 12 digital health startups and included six life science members including Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease, Boehringer Ingelheim, Eli Lilly and Company, Novo Nordisk, Sumitovant Biopharma and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
The accelerator plans to add two new cohorts in 2022.

Droice Labs, an artificial intelligence powered startup that helps integrate real world data from EHRs and other patient data sources. It can also work with clinicians to present clinically relevant data on each patient.

EVOCAL health is a German startup that uses digital biomarkers and AI as predictive diagnostic tools. The company’s AI and machine learning are being developed to use vocal biomarkers such as voice, breathing, and cough to detect disease.

LiyfeDeveloped a digital nurse chatbot that can help diagnose symptoms and predict complications for cancer patients. The tool is designed to collect oncological data from the real world.

Longenesisis an Estonian company focused on referring patients to clinical trials and helping them enroll.

Based in the UKNeucruit has developed a software tool that focuses on patient recruitment for clinical trials. The tool is also intended to help include the patients enrolled in the study.
