Press secretary Jen Psaki quoted Ronald Reagan back to conservatives accusing Biden of reverse racism in his Supreme Court nomination process.
First, we would say that the fact that no black woman was nominated reflects a lack of past selection processes, not a lack of qualified candidates for the Supreme Court nomination.
“I would note that too. I’ve heard that some conservatives might be fans of President Reagan, former President Reagan, and when he nominated Sandra Day O’Connor, he said, “Judge O’Connor’s confirmation symbolizes the wealth of opportunity America has always had nor offers – opportunities that enable persons of any gender, age or race, from any stage and walk of life, to strive and achieve in ways never before dreamed of in human history.’”
Jen Psaki made a strong argument that the Conservative complaints had nothing to do with reverse racism. It’s blatant racism. The conservatives attacking Biden are both concerned about the loss of their power and white privilege, and deeply threatened by any minority in power.
Biden’s pledge to nominate a black woman for the Supreme Court is a sign the country is changing at the highest level.
One suspects that if Ronald Reagan were alive and in politics today, Donald Trump’s party would call him a RINO, because today’s GOP doesn’t look like the party Reagan led forty years ago.
