Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked if Senator Ted Cruz is bringing his indictment and he replied with laughter, asking Cruz what happened on 1/6.
Transcript via CBS’s Face The Nation:
MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator Cruz told the Attorney General that you should be prosecuted.
DR. FAUCI: Yes. I have to laugh about that. Should I be prosecuted? What happened on January 6th, Senator?
MARGARET BRENNAN: Do you think it’s about scapegoating yourself to distract –
DR.FAUCI: Of course-
MARGARET BRENNAN: – From President Trump?
DR. FAUCI: Of course you have to sleep in order not to find out.
MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, there are a lot of Republican Senators aiming at that. I mean-
DR. FAUCI: That’s fine, I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to save lives and they are going to lie.
MARGARET BRENNAN: It just seems to be another level of danger to play politics for life and death.
DR. FAUCI: Exactly. Exactly. And it’s incredibly bad for me because I just want to save people’s lives. I’ve done that for the last 50 years, 40 of them, 37 of them as head of the institute.
Dr. Fauci is fed up with Republican liars
Dr. Fauci is clearly fed up with Republicans slandering him to cover up Trump’s COVID incompetence and neglect. He left it to Rand Paul during a recent Senate hearing, and he made it clear he wasn’t going to be a Republican punching bag.
Ted Cruz tried to get cheap political points, but Dr. Fauci made it clear that if anyone deserves prosecution, it is the Texas Senator who helped instigate the 1/6 attack.
