Whether it’s neon green Coperni robes on stage or a glitzy Attico look in her free time, Dua Lipa has been rocking fashion after fashion this summer.
But one thing stands out in particular for today’s fashion icon: the iconic check skirt in the spirit of the American schoolgirl by Chopova Lowena.
While sightseeing in Stockholm this week (on a boat, of course), the singer once again opted for a pink, blue and black mini, which she paired with a white puff-sleeved cotton blouse, also designed by the London-based label.
When it comes to accessories, the pop star endorses another popular brand by opting for a snake print Razr bag from KNWLS and completing the look with Balenciaga’s iconic Le Cagole boots (another Lipa favorite this season). Makeup was done in neon pink tones.
Long bragging about her status as one of Chopova Lowena’s biggest fans, Lipa wears her signature ruffled blouses or printed swimsuits.
But Dua is far from the only A-star supporting this burgeoning label. Madonna, Willow Smith and Olivia Rodrigo, who wore the brand on stage in Glastonbury over the weekend, also wore fashions by Chopova Lowena.
So what is the secret of the success and appreciation of the London brand with Bulgarian heritage? Many of them are made from recycled vintage folk fabrics sourced from their native Bulgaria.
“Our pieces have a story, a sense of storytelling: you are connected if you buy a little bit more. This is something special,” Emma Chopova, co-founder of the company, previously said in an interview with Vogue.
The best thing about the four leaf clover? Many of them are made from premium folkloric vintage fabrics sourced from the quadruple homeland of Bulgaria.
Their motto is quite simple: people are particularly attracted to aesthetics, so they are not afraid to combine something ridiculous with something really beautiful.
