Democrats are once again showing the American people what a functioning no-drama government looks like with a deal to avoid a shutdown.
Rose DeLauro, Chair of the House Budgets Committee, announced:

The house will pass the CR. The Senate is likely to follow suit, as McConnell and Schumer have been speaking for days to avoid a government shutdown. Neither party wants the government to shut down before Christmas. It looks bad for any member of Congress, and it also runs counter to their plans to leave Washington in the middle of the month for the Christmas vacation.
There are some Senate Republicans, led by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), who want a vote to lift Biden’s vaccine mandate and threaten a shutdown if they don’t get it, but Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) threw cold water on this idea:
>@JohnCornyn on the debate about forcing a shutdown because of a VAX mandate: “I don’t think shutdowns will benefit people as some people think they do.”

Republicans know closings are bad policies for them, and closings over Christmas are even more toxic and speed up the approval of tanks.
Democrats deliver big and small things
Democrats make the government work for the American people. Some Republicans in Congress are still trying hostage policy with government money, but the Democrats continue to set the tone and get things done.
Government is running smoothly again because adults are in charge and deliver for the American people.
