Six Ikea customers and around two dozen employees ended up at an impromptu slumber party in Denmark after being stranded in a snow storm that forced them to stay in a store on Wednesday.
Up to 30 cm of snow fell and held the customers and employees in the shop in Aalborg so that they could not go back to their own beds.
But instead of attempting to hike back through the snow, customers and employees were given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a night in the shop’s inviting furniture showrooms.
Pictures show how they were chosen from the various beds and mattresses found throughout the store.
Fortunately, customers didn’t have to put their sleeping cabins together themselves and were allowed to giggle in the furniture displays

Customers, employees and employees of the toy store next door were stranded in a snow storm and had to spend the night in Ikea
“We slept in the furniture exhibition and in our showroom on the first floor, where we have beds, mattresses and sofa beds,” said branch manager Peter Elmrose of the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
He said customers could pick the exact bed they wanted to buy and try it out, and they’d all spend the night eating and watching TV, saying it went “super good” and the night had “it all.” Was fun “.
Danish public broadcaster DR also reported that people who worked in the toy store next door also took part in the Ikea-themed overnight stay after they too were stranded by the bad weather.
Grateful to Ikea staff, toy store manager Michelle Barrett said, “It’s much better than sleeping in the car. It was nice and warm and we’re glad they let us in. ‘
“We just laughed at the situation because we probably won’t see it again.”
