The Africa Cup of Nations 2022 has advanced to the second round of the group stage and one name stands out from the scorers’ list.
captain Vincent Aboubakar Hosts Cameroon are in high spirits as the tournament begins, scoring five goals in total, including at least one in each of their country’s three games, to move to the top of the player list in what is usually a low-goal tournament.
His teammate from Cameroon, Karl Toko Ekambi from Lyon is just behind him with two goals and he’s joined by three other players: Malawi Gabadinho Mhango, who works for the Orlando Pirates in South Africa and scored twice against Zimbabwe; Sarpsborgs Ibrahima Kone, who has two penalties to his name; and attackers of Saint-Etienne and Tunisia Wahbi Khazri.
