Only the winners will survive from now on at the Africa Cup of Nations 2022 as the knockout stages continue with the round of 16.
Burkina Faso vs Gabon opened the knockout battle that ended in a thrilling penalty shootout and then Nigeria were angered by Tunisia. Gambia narrowly advanced when Bologna’s Musa Barrow scored the winner against Guinea.
All eight round of 16 games will take place until Wednesday. Each game takes center stage, with each round of 16 competition presented in a separate window.
Arguably the best-known encounter in the Round of 16 is Wednesday’s clash between Ivory Coast and Egypt, in which the two star-studded heavyweights meet early in the knockout rounds. It would come as no surprise if either the elephants or the pharaohs made it to the finals should they survive their head-to-head confrontation.
