MUMBAI — Indian tax inspectors stay at BBC workplaces in Delhi and Mumbai for a 3rd straight day. These raids come weeks after the British broadcaster aired a documentary crucial of India’s prime minister.

Round 10 BBC workers have been sleeping of their workplace since Tuesday. A number of the tax brokers stayed in a single day too. They searched the laptops and telephones of some journalists in addition to administrative employees.

Indian officers name this a tax “survey.” However press freedom advocates say it could have extra to do with a current BBC documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s position in anti-Muslim riots. His authorities banned it from being screened or shared on-line in India.

Whereas rights teams have criticized these raids, the governments of the U.S., France and the U.Okay. haven’t. They have been celebrating an enormous deal Modi presided over, wherein Air India is shopping for airplanes made by U.S., French and British firms.
