SEOUL — North Korean chief Kim Jong Un presided over celebrations marking the institution of the nation’s military in 1948. Observers are watching to see if the North marks the event with a navy parade, and a show of recent weapons.

State media confirmed photos of Kim at a banquet with medal-bedecked generals at a lodge in Pyongyang.

Additionally with him have been his spouse and younger daughter Kim Ju Ae, in solely her fourth reported public look.

Some observers interpret this as Kim’s message that nuclear weapons will shield future generations of North Koreans. Kim praised the Korean Individuals’s Military, based 75 years in the past immediately, because the strongest on the planet.
